Natural gas prices fell in October on forecasts for a mild winter, while the extra natural gas in storage for winter kept shrinking. Power went the other way: U.S. demand kept growing, PJM prices spiked during plant maintenance, and both PJM and New York warned of tight electricity supply ahead. Overseas, European natural gas hit its highest price since 2022.
