August brought lower natural gas prices and a higher long-term electricity outlook. Gas settled at $2.73 per million Btu on record production and above-normal storage, while PJM’s capacity auction cleared at its cap for the third consecutive year and the EIA raised its 2027 commercial power forecast to 14.05 cents per kilowatt-hour.
