In the month of June we witnessed a continued theme of underwhelming demand. The eastern half of the country continued to see cooler-than-expected temperatures. The summer air conditioning demand has yet to arrive in many key markets, with the exception of Texas as temperatures in cities like Houston and Dallas approach 100 degrees. On the other hand, production and storage levels continue to outpace overall demand. Storage levels for the week ending June 16th have reached 2,729 BCF which is 26.5% higher than last June. High storage levels with low demand can place downward pressure on natural gas pricing.
